egyptian dance music and culture

Egypt has fascinated people for thousands of years. It is home to a long-standing tradition of rhythm, music and dance, whose aesthetic themes are a source of inspiration for modern art forms.

The "tanz raum" is a platform for artists with a passion for Egypt, its dance forms and music. Dancers, choreographs, musicians, music producers and photographers from all over the world come here to work on projects to promote mutual cross-cultural understanding. Ideas born here are spread to people all over the world:
  • Dance performances & music concerts
  • CD productions featuring outstanding Egyptian artists
  • Photo exhibitions
  • Courses and workshops for students in many countries

Claudia Heinle founded the "tanz raum" on Lake Constance in 1996 and now runs it together with Caroline Chevat. The "tanz raum" is located in Kreuzlingen in Switzerland, right on the border to the university town of Konstanz. Situated in the friendly atmosphere of a house built at the turn of the last century, the "tanz raum" offers courses in dance and percussion, lectures, smaller concerts and seminars. The greater part of the project management is also conducted from here.
